I've read an article that stated that many honey that is on the shelves in the US is ultra-filtered. Meaning that the pollen is removed. There is no reason to do this, except to make it more expensive, remove some of the taste, and more importantly, hide where the honey came from. Most ultra-filtered honey has come into the US from China, illegally. This brand of honey, is one of those that has no pollen, thus it cannot be tracked. Some of these honey's have been found to have additives put in. "The FDA -- either because of lack of interest or resources -- devoted little effort to inspecting imported honey. Nevertheless, the agency had occasionally either been told of, or had stumbled upon, Chinese honey contaminated with chloramphenicol and other illegal animal antibiotics which are dangerous, even fatal, to a very small percentage of the population." This coming from an Food Safety News article written in November, 2011.Seems like your best chance for quality, true honey is buy certified organic. Stay away from this stuff, because you don't know where it came from, and what was put in it.
